Therapy...

People come to therapy for a wide range of reasons. Sometimes you may have a clear idea of the things that are concerning you, or you may just feel low and weighed down with worries. That’s why therapy can vary in both length and depth. I work on the basis that all my clients’ concerns are significant and important and deserve all my focus and attention.

As an integrative therapist I am trained in several modalities of therapy. I incorporate elements of Psychodynamic Theory, Person Centred Theory, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR into my work, so that individual therapy always suits the individual’s needs.

By exploring your life in a safe and confidential environment you can share your concerns and gain insights into issues that may have arisen from the past or the present, and together we can look at ways that may improve your wellbeing, within the support of an ongoing therapeutic relationship.

I don't offer advice, but I aim to support you by offering a warm, non-judgemental relationship in which to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of yourself, and to trust in your own sense of what is right for you.

Therapy can be short or long term. I believe it is very important to find a therapist in whom you have confidence and with whom you feel comfortable. I always suggest we arrange an initial meeting to help you decide if I am the right therapist for you.

Issues I work with include:

Depression and anxiety
Coping with loss and bereavement
Understanding and resolving difficult feelings and states of mind
Facing crisis and change
Developing personal insight and knowledge
Improving relationships with others
Making decisions
Personal Development
Working through feelings of inner conflict

I am a Registered Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and committed to work within the BACP ‘Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions’
